India Pakistan Peace - A Dream That May Not Become A Reality

It happened again. As soon as there was an effort by the Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan to rekindle the peace talks, there was a deadly terror attack at an Airforce base in Pathankot. And this was not a one off incident. When Prime Minister A B Vajpayee visited Lahore by bus and extended a hand of friendship, we suffered Kargil war, when Parvez Musharraf was invited to India and India tried to initiate peace process at Agra, the reply came in the form of attack on our Parliament, then we suffered 26/11 which was as horrific if not more than the attacks in Paris and the latest slap on the face of the initiative for peace started by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi's surprise visit to Pakistan on invitation of Pakistan's PM Nawaz Sharif came in the form of this deadly attack on Air Force base.

The above incidents prove that no matter how seriously or how passionately peace is pursued by the two countries, there are parties involved who are more interested in disrupting peace and ensuring that these two countries never come together.

India and Pakistan, two nations which were once a single country divided by British in 1947, have never been able to exist peacefully. Since 1947 the two countries have fought 4 wars and have a never actually seen a period of prolonged peace. After independence Pakistan moved towards USA and India found and ally in USSR even though it refused to be a part of any military block. In Pakistan, USA found a base from where it could keep an eye on USSR and keep India engaged by equipping Pakistan with latest weapons. This set the tone for a rivalry between two countries.

After the disintegration of USSR, the Cold War came to an end and this was the time when India was opening up to the world and realizing its potential as future economic super power of the world and this I believe was not acceptable to some existing super powers in the world who did not want a challenge to their control over the world's economic resources and hence a change in the status quo. So the best way to curb India's rapid strides was to divert the resources and energy towards a hostile neighbor. By ensuring that Pakistan's political class remains weak and is always dictated by its Military which was a pawn in the hands of USA, it was ensured that there was always a tension on India-Pakistan Border.

Pakistani Army used the arms and ammunition supplied to it by USA to equip militants and started a proxy war on India, when after the first three wars it was clear that it cannot defeat India in an open war. These militants wrecked hevoc initially in Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir and slowly spread across the country.

India even though making rapid strides towards achieving its economic goal of becoming one of the biggest economies in the world, was forced to divert a huge chunk of its funds towards strengthening its Armed forces. These were the same funds which could have been used to develop the infrastructure of the country.

On one side where Pakistan with the economic and military support of USA was unleashing deadly terrror attacks on Indian soil, we were faced with a bigger and more dangerous adversary, CHINA. China also started its developmental story almost at the same time as India, but soon overtook every other nation and posed a direct threat to USA for the title of the biggest economic superpower on earth.

And once again in order to achieve this goal the focus shifted to Indian subcontinent. China understood that the biggest challenge to its global supremacy is India. And once again to stop India's growth momentum or rather slow it it decided to use Pakistan.

Pakistan's Army leadership which was slowly loosing the support of USA accepted China's offer of friendship with open arms. China unlike USA was more direct in its offensive tactics. It's army often violated international border treaties and would openly infiltrate Indian lands. And on top of that if openly supplied Pakistan with weapons and Army technology. While China created problems on the eastern fronts Pakistan's Army and its secret service agency ISI continued their dirty deeds against Indian citizens.

So in the end I would like to conclude by saying that the only party that would be seriously interested in a peaceful existence of India and Pakistan would be the citizens of the two country, because they are the ones who suffer the worst consequences when they loose their loved ones. But the real power lies in the hands of parties who would love to see these two countries at a constant war because that fulfills their agenda of controlling the world.

And my heart and the heart of every peace loving Indian goes to our brave soldiers who lay their lives  to protect the peace of this nation fighting those cowards who kill without any remorse. Our nation is indebted to all those soldiers and officers who were martyred fighting in all the wars inside the country's boundaries and on its borders hoping that their sacrifice would bring peace, but not knowing that there are some Devils in the skin of humans who would not let that happen.

Self-Realization (The Secret of Happiness)

" Self-Realization is the first encounter with Reality ." A simple but true statement. We spend years on this earth, lost and burdened with a load of aspirations and dreams. But for there comes a time in everyone's life when the realization struck like lightning and the entire life turns upside down. We realize that we've been chasing the wrong goals throughout our lives. Most of us spend our entire lifetimes chasing wealth, power, and materialistic joys of life and believing that achieving those goals would fill our lives with happiness. Little do we know that if happiness could be bought every rich man would be happy and poor would not be sleeping at night. However, we all know that is not true. But for the lucky ones who get a taste of this self-realization, a chance of turning around their lives presents itself.   I happened to have a similar experience. I was sitting in a restaurant with some of my friends, when suddenly in the middle of the conversation it struc

Corona Virus - A Nation's Fight Against Itself - An Open Letter to the Prime Minister

Respected Prime Minister Sir, Through this letter of mine, I would first of all like to thank you for all the efforts the government is making to combat the threat of Corona Virus in our country. Since I was not born when India went to war in 1962, 1965 and 1971 and too young to understand the complexities of it during the Kargil war, this is my first hand experience of a war like situation in the country. However, I would like to state that when you appeared on television on March 19, 2020 to address the nation, I felt assured that the government of this nation is leaving no stones unturned to ward off this threat on the lives of all the citizens of India. In fact for the first time in my life, since I’ve been able to understand the political narrative of this country, I saw politics taking a back seat and all the state governments were working with the Union government to ensure that this vicious chain can be broken. However, your reappearance on the national television to

RAM: A God Or Just A Man

We often get to hear that India is a nation of Gods. According to some theories there are approximately 36 Crore Gods and Goddesses that reside in the soul of India. Every state, every city, every town, every village in India has their own God or Goddess. Most of these Gods are revered and worshipped because of one or multiple miraculous deeds that they performed when they appeared on earth. Krishna, Shiva, Durga, Vishnu, Hanuman, Kali, Ganesh, Lakshmi and even minor Gods like, Indra, Varun, Vayu have numerous miraculous acts associated with them. Now, whether these are just stories or real miracles or if there are some other clarifications which can be given for them, we will discuss at some other time. Today I want to explore and understand a God who is not associated with any miracle throughout his appearance on earth, he couldn't fly, couldn't shift shapes and on top of that even though he is considered to be an incarnation of all powerful Vishnu, he had to depend upon a
