Great Indian Political Circus

The Left wing student union of Jawahar Lal Nehru University (JNU), decided to create a stir in the political atmosphere of Delhi and organized a program in which they commemorated Afzal Guru on his death anniversary and slammed the decision of Hon' Supreme Court of hanging him for his activities linked to terror attacks in India. The program was held in JNU and it is heard that a lot of pro Pakistan and Anti-India slogans were raised and Afzal Guru was made out to be a martyr.

After this show, (which was a slap in the face of our democracy and an open misuse of fundamental rights,) when the news of what transpired in this show and after the complaints registered by BJP's student wing ABVP and BJP leaders with Delhi police, the leader of this Super Patriotic and Nationalistic student union Mr. Kanahia Kumar was arrested on charges of Sedetion.

So this was just the news of what actually happened. Now we come to the comic relief from this very serious issue which would lighten the mood of all the nationalists and anti-nationalists. Mr. Rahul Gandhi, well respected leader  and Vice-President of Congress party visited JNU and in a show of solidarity towards Left wing students and teachers, compared the arrest of Kanahia Kumar to Hitler's Nazi Regime.

I would like to elaborate on the comedy here. The concept of making sense with his talks is lost on Mr. Gandhi, and it seems that either he was schooled at home or in some other country because otherwise even a three year old child studying in pre-nursery knows that the slogan that we raise in this country is ''Bharat Mata Ki Jai'' not ''Pakistan Zindabad.'' So it Mr. Gandhi's allegation is absolutely right and students rights are being curbed in this country, if he believed, which he can, that the campus of JNU is situated in Islamabad. And on top of that we have Mr. Arvind Kejriwal who thinks that the action on students is a conspiracy of BJP, ABVP and Delhi Police.

I would like to ask these self proclaimed nationalists, these student wings and their political masters, where were the slogans and how many meetings were conducted to commemorate and honor of the 10 brave soldiers who died in the line of duty in Siachen. Just because there is no media coverage for a soldier's death, as the news is not spicy enough, they are easily sidelined. Even these students have learnt fast the trick of the trade, ''only the issues with media coverage should be raised.'' Mr. Rahul Gandhi had no words for these martyrs in his speeches as there was no political mileage, (there are rumors that he and Mr. Kejriwal tried to put the blame of that Avalanche on BJP and Delhi Police.)

But more than the opposition political parties, who have cultivated this habit of blaming BJP government in the centre of intolerance and anti-poor, anti-youth and anti-everything and anything, even when they have an argument with their spouse at home, I am concerned about the youth of this country. The students on whom the aspirations of this nation are dependent, should be politically informed and active but they should not become political opportunists.

It is not an offense in this country to choose one's political affiliance, but a line has to be drawn between blindly following the agenda of your political party of opposing every action of the government, and taking the correct stance and standing up for the government and more importantly for the nation, when it comes to national security.

Even in this case, if the students were following the political agenda of the parent party, than they should be made aware of the facts related to Afzal Guru and his actions, but if they did it to promote their political future, which seems to be the case here, then they should be treated no differently than a terrorist. The days of defaming India in the name of Right to Speech are over, now all those who want to push India down to raise themselves should be thrown into prison.

I am not in anyway saying that citizens of this country cannot criticize the government or should not raise their voice against violence, corruption or crimes happening in India. But it should be backed by the evidence and must not be done only to malign the government and gaining publicity. And in this case, even President of India refused to accept mercy plea of Afzal Guru. Hence, there is no scope of doubt here that he was a terrorist. To commemorate him is to side with terrorists against India.

But of course, we have to keep Mr. Gandhi out of all this because a person who doesn't know what he is saying and is just repeating the speech written by his political advisors, which he crammed last night. And also Mr. Kejriwal is not to be blamed as well because even if his car doesn't start in one go, that's a conspiracy of BJP and Delhi Police.

People like these are considered as our political future and political option and they say India is intolerant. What can be bigger joke than this?

The Importance of 'I'

When a child is born, he knows no relations. He is only concerned about his meals and his sleep. As he starts to grow up he is introduced to the relationships and then for most of us these relations become more important that even ourselves. God created only man and woman. It is us who gave a name to human interactions because of our need for companion. But the point right now or the questions in front of us are; whether we should keep relations ahead of ourselves? And whether we do justice to that relation by doing that?  Now let me elaborate on these questions. There comes a time in everyone's life when a relationship becomes so important that in order to keep it alive we are willing to sacrifice everything and sometimes the effort is reciprocated and sometimes it doesn't. We need to ask ourselves if all this effort is worth the try?  The answer is No. Because till the time I is not satisfied in a relationship it will never let We to evolve. I believe that the ...

Decoding Hinduism

“A set of belief concerning the cause, nature and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as a creation of superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.”  dictionary.com “A personal set or institutionalised system of religious attitudes, beliefs and practices.”  merriam-webster.com These are the definitions of the word ‘Religion’ given in two of the most renowned dictionaries available on Internet. And these definitions are spot on in case of most of the religions existing in the world like Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Sikhism, Judaism , etc. Every religion would find its definition in the above mentioned words. But not Hinduism; because these definitions are too narrow in scope to define Hinduism. It is too broad a term to be defined in two simple lines. I am in no way trying to undermine any other religion or trying to portray a larger than life im...

My Understanding of Hinduism

Who is a Hindu? The simplest answer would be a person who follows Hinduism is a Hindu. But this answer can be sufficient for a follower of Islam, Christianity or Sikhism because these religions are based on a set of rules and rituals and hence can be defined on the basis of following of them. However, when talking about a Hindu or Hinduism this answer does not suffice. This is because Hinduism is not bound by rules and rituals. Hinduism is more of a way of life than a religion. If you are able to unearth the deep rooted truths that lie in the teachings of Hinduisms, then there is no fear of any Hell and no desire for any Heaven left in us. There are reasons that I refer to Hinduism as a way of life. And I would like to share some of the reasons that I have been able to decode. First of all, a Hindu unlike a Muslim or a Christian is not asked to follow one particular God and lead the life in a particular way. There is a lot of freedom. The thoughts, ideology, the rituals are not r...
